Speakit Films

London, United Kingdom

Founded in 2004 by filmmaker brothers Nick Francis and Marc J. Francis, Speakit has become renowned for its imaginative and sensitive treatment of the most pressing global issues and human stories of our time. Speakit’s most notable films to date include the award-winning Sundance hit Black Gold, which won worldwide critical acclaim and When China Met Africa – a multi-broadcast project involving BBC Storyville, Arte France, and the Sundance Institute.

Through the provision of completion funds, sankalpa enabled Speakit Films to; produce a film to the highest industry standards, secure world wide distribution and build a large movement behind the film and its core message of mindfulness and peace. Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Walk With Me is a cinematic journey into the world of mindfulness and the Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh. Filmed over three years and with unprecedented access, this visceral film is a meditation on a community who have given up all their possessions for a monastic life in rural France.

Cooling to the mind and soothing to the spirit, the documentary Walk With Me offers a tiny oasis of relief to anyone overheated by current events. When you feel like freaking out, the movie’s commitment to slowing down and drawing inward doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.
