Jame Bristow The Mindfulness Initiative
changemakers

Jamie Bristow

Nationwide, United Kingdom

After graduating in psychology, Jamie started his career in advertising. Working for top agencies such as TBWA and Wieden+Kennedy, for brands including PlayStation, Nissan and Nokia. Jamie then went on to work for a climate campaign and became a global brand director before going on to join the digital meditation start-up, Headspace. His role within Headspace led to his involvement with the Mindfulness All-Party Parliamentary Group, initially as a volunteer researcher, he was later asked to take over as director of The Mindfulness Initiative in 2015.

Although The Mindfulness Initiative now advise politicians and policymakers around the world and help to make capacities of heart and mind serious considerations of public policy, they receive no government support and can't generate revenue in order to remain trusted and impartial. Therefore, the organisation is entirely dependant on visionary funders who share their ambition to help create a more conscious and compassionate society – this makes a partnership with sankalpa a natural fit.

sankalpa means taking an optimistic view of what humanity can become, it means telling different stories about who we are and what we can achieve together. It means supporting those initiatives that embody this shift, showing the world how we can grow, wake up and transcend the converging crises of the 21st century.
